They are simply using the law to their clients advantage which is what they are paid to do. Do you think any less of a cop who gets a crook thrown in jail on a technicality?

Although a lawyer can be disbarred for this, although it would be extremely difficult. It is good to an extent that lawyers keep our government in check, meaning some who are guilty are set free. The big picture in the end is that we keep our own government in check from over and aggressive prosecutions.

This is how I look at it.... They are the clients lawyer..... they are obligated to give the best advice and help they can. It does not matter if the person is guilty or not.... it is the lawyers job to place the doubt in the jury's and judge's head, not to help prove his client is guilty. Also, I want to be a lawyer and this part really bugged me so I asked a lawyer his oppinion, and he said the same thing I first said....he also said that it helped the cops and courts do their jobs more efficiently by forcing them to stick to the books and encourage them to do their job more efficiently next time... Likewise, the more cases won and criminals go free...the police learn better ways to convict the next one, leading to for every one criminal set free, 3 or 4 captured and convicted from the lesson they learned from the first case. yes sounds like bull but it helps me sleep at night knowing I want to be a lawyer, but it is true. also...when I am a lawyer their guiltiness will not matter unless I am trying to prosecute them.....
