I don't know anyone who follows the NBA. I know many sports fans, but they don't care about the NBA. Some enjoy college ball.

- Good question, I really don't know other than the local fans and the alma mater. Where I live, Women's and Men's college basketball is very popular. I don't have any loyalty to a specific college sports program since I didn't attend a name school and the local programs weren't popular when I was young.

I'm a new NBA fan, so I have found this year to be a lot of fun. I am a Rockets' fan and went to Houston to watch them play. It's more fun if you have friends that like the same team and have the same enthusiasm for their home teams. Next, we will go to the Astros games. I generally like many sports.

I just don't get it myself, look right and they make a basket, look left and they make a basket. Look right, another basket. Look left another........ they need something to break the monotony or just play the last 2 seconds when someone actually wins by two points.

I follow the NBA careers of ex Uconn huskies so this year I've been following the New Jersey Nets and I am impressed with the play of Josh Boone. My first love is the Uconn basketball programs: both the men and the women. The NBA is a secondary curiosity to me at most.

nba does suck. its fixed. they are all a bunch of over paid cry babies. they dont even call traveling now a days. its stupid. regular season i cant bear to watch it. but it is sort of entertaining come playoff time.

Not really. The only time I watch is the last few minutes of a finals game. But I would watch all day if the only alternative was NBA or baseball. I'd rather watch grass grow than watch a baseball game.

I am a *huge* NBA fan. The quality of play is often excellent and the NBA has largely cleaned up the "thug-ball" tactics that teams like the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks (under Pat Riley) made common.

OTOH, there are always some *awful* teams and the officiating can be horribly inconsistent.

There is also the issue of the players off-court behavior. Unfortunately, it is usually the worst of the worst that make the news. Nevertheless, many believe that NBA players (and professional athletes in general) are arrogant spoiled adolescents. Unfortunately, enough of them behave that way to reinforce that stereotype.

People who don't like the NBA do have valid reasons for their position (even if I don't share it).

- The New York Knickerbockers (Knicks) are ostensibly a basketball team. However, they are widely considered to be the worst-run team in the NBA (I'm sure your brother is the exception to the general management incompetence....;-D....)

It's not as fun as it was when guys like MJ, Bird, Magic and others played. The fundamentals are disappearing. Nobody passes until they find the open man anymore. They just get the ball and shoot or try to dunk it. It's losing it's science. IMO

I care about the NBA. I've loved the Chicago Bulls since I was a kid and MJ, Pippen, and Rodman were out there tearin' it up. They're not as fun to watch these days, but I still keep track of what's goin' on.

Not to mention, I'm hot for basketball boys. Something about the dexterity and the hand-eye coordination and the tallness...LOL! :)
