  • And McDonalds forced their food on her and that is why she is fat too. Contributing to her eating and drug taking issues was the music she listened to. It was "Satanic" and if you play it backwards the voices practically demand that you eat, drug, and kill. FFS! Why can't people take responsibility for their choices? No, not a good precedent at all.
  • Yes, this way the drug dealer should face the consequences. get rid of all drug dealers and put them on an island somewhere.
  • What the hell happened to personal responsibility? Like she didn't know that crack was addictive. I doubt the dealer put a gun to her head and forced her to do whatever drug she choose to do. I hope he appeals and wins the appeal and then sues her for the costs incurred by a frivilous lawsuit. *I know that is a US PREcedent.
  • That's as ridiculous as letting a 14 year old boy sue Playboy magazine for his development of carpal tunnel syndrome!
  • winning the civil suit is one thing. getting the money is another.
  • I am rather conflicted on this one. I have absolutely no love for those that make their money preying on the weaknesses of others. This is especially true of those that sell illegal drugs. I have absolutely no sympathy for the pusher in this case. I think he deserves whatever misfortunes may come his way. On the other hand, I have also been a big one for people taking responsibility for their own actions. This woman chose to use the drugs, thereby getting herself addicted. Having chosen to do that to herself, she is now complaining because the pusher acted like a pusher. What, did she really think that someone who make his money selling illegal drugs is going to do? Did she expect him to tell her that she has had enough? Did she really expect someone with so little conscience as to be able to sell that poison to care about what happened to her? I mean, come on. Given the anti drug messages that pervade most civilized countries, she can't claim ignorance of what she was doing to herself by taking those first few hits. So, complaining about a pusher acting true to his nature just strikes me as being one more example of this person's refusal to take responsibility for her own actions. So, I really don't have much sympathy for her either. So, in the end, I am not sure which side to fall on this one. I will say this, if it does set a precedent, then don't expect to get much out of it. These would be civil suits against people who have already shown that they have no respect for the law. Such people usually have ways of hiding their assets so as to protect them from seizure. If more people start going after them in this way, I suspect that they will just find better ways to hide their money. This does not mean that I think that we should go after these people and make it as hard as possible for them to do business, but I just don't think that something like this will make much of a difference.
  • again the court system is allowing stupid cases like this to go a head ....she now should be locked up for admitting taking illegal drugs, SHE knew what she was getting and SHE took the drugs , her responsibility!!!...what a load of bullshit
  • A very good precedent. This is not covered under free entreprise.
  • The woman knew what she was getting into.
