Help answer this question below.

Engine blew upper radiator hose ,overheated now getting blue smoke from exhaust since repaired. Could it be an intake gasket or head gasket ? it's on a 79 ford 302 c.i.d. engine

    ok swamprat here is a few sugestions,if the smoke is blue its most likely oil, if it got real hot you could have taken some of the sealing force from the rings or if the smoke is worse when its cold and you have positive type valve seals they could be bad, if its white then most likely head or head gasket. take a little sniff of the smoke, antifreeze will be real sweet where oil won't. hope this helps!
