If a person found a cheap item at a garage sale, and knows that it sells for much more at a store, could that person take the cheap item back to the store and get the money?

    I'm sure they could and they do. Retailers often require a receipt and of course the person who purchased the item at a garage sale would not have a store receipt. The customer is always right policy makes it possible to be deceptive in this case. The question is could they do it so the answer is yes but it's dishonest.
