  • I've been real happy with Yahoo360, but it's going to disappear when they complete the revamp next week. There will be a bright, new blog world after that. Probably, blog.com would be a good place to start. A lot of the former Yahoo360 users are switching to multiply because of the other services there, like e-mail, and photo sharing.
  • If you want to get on Google's search engine for any reason, you should check into blogger ( https://www.blogger.com/start ). That would be the quickest way to get your site indexed. Yahoo!360 is alright, but pretty far behind the curve ( http://360.yahoo.com/login.html?.done=http%3A%2F%2F360.yahoo.com%2F&.src=360 ). Windows Live is of course trying to get attention also ( http://home.services.spaces.live.com/ ).
  • I started with Blogger, but after a lot of issues with their server - and realizing that using their "upload image" option would forever tie me to that platform (you can't move your entire blog and have the picture links work if you've used their server to store pics rather than flickr or photobucket) I had to break from the almighty Google. I tried every single blogging platform because my blog was fairly large (I had nearly two years by that point) and I was concerned about security, options and having a back-up *just in case.* I finally decided on Wordpress. I love it. I've since set up several blogs for friends on their free platform and they love it (I pay for my own URL and host, so my version of WordPress has a few more options - but not many.. and the free version has a few extra I wish I had!). I think Wordpress evolves faster than Blogger and you will get a lot more help in the forums if there is a problem since it's open source. Good luck getting help from Google if you can't find the answer in the FAQ's. I would definitely go with Wordpress.
  • Wordpress hands down! With Wordpree you can have multiple pages in addition to the posts. If you want you set up your blog to be a website, not just a blog. The forum it great and no one beats the customer service they give. There is not anything they won't help you; and promt at anwering you question. Unlimited pages, posts, blogs, categories, tags, Wordpress is organized. They've got their act together.
