Well, if they are not married, as the material implies, then they are celibate. Did you perhaps mean CHASTE, or refraining from sex? That's a different question. I don't recall the comic books ever saying that her companions were lesbians, either. So I don't think that's the case. Just because women form together to accomplish something, doesn't make them lesbians. So I guess my answer is: lesbians - no celibate - yes chaste - who knows? Probably.
