Apple iPod troubleshooting

I have an Ipod and today when I plugged in my headphones, there was no sound for music or videos. What is going on and can I do anything to fix it?

i have the same problem i have tried different headphones n still nothing, i even tried resetting my ipod.

Hm...I did and it worked. But my headphones work on my portable dvd player but not my ipod? Weird.

Try a different set of headphones just to see if that is where the problem begins.
