How do you organize your personal library of books?

We have none fiction in the front room book case and fiction in the hall, store room and loft :)

By subject and title. That doesn't help much when I can't remember which book something I want to find is in though.

Some on the book shelves, some on the floor, some on the nightstand, one in the car, and of course on in the bathroom... Not to mention the ones I've lent out and want back, or the ones I have borrowed and will never return.

From biggest to smallest going from left to right.

One pile, read....and another, not read.

By size.

Alphabetically by Title. I accumulated so many over a lifetime that I gave some away and now just put in requests at the library. I never read any of them twice so I don't know why I keep them.

I have about 300...completely not organized. My cd's are alphabetical however.
