Do you find the music, if there is any, when you're put on hold at a business to be obnoxious? Or does it calm you down if you're calling to complain?

I don't mind the hold music... What I really hate is when the little interruptions to the music come on every 10 seconds to say, "Your call is important, blah, blah, blah..." Geez people, put that timer on a minute or so.

It doesn't affect me at all, I usually put the phone on speaker when I'm on hold. :) What I do hate is when companies call you and you answer your phone to hear: "This is regarding a very important matter, please remain on the line and a representative will assist you shortly" (or something of the sort), really if its so DAMN important why are you placing me on hold!

I appreciate the music, it doesnt calm me down but I feel like they are making an effort to put me at ease.

i hate it when they place the companies advertising in there instead of any music! i usually ring airlines for one matter or another, and you always hear "business class is a great way to relax on your flight, why dont you upgrade" or "we now run direct flights from christchurch to vancouver" or something along the lines of that. i mean its an agents line.... im not the one traveling! :) annoying!!!
