It might help to have a few drinks. I find that it helps me when Im gambling. It makes you do things that wouldnt normally do. Which can make you not worry about what you are doing. Giving you a better poker face.

There are many books on the subject, and you can watch the professionals on TV to get some pointers. There are just about as many strategies as there are players. And my comment to moparman is true, at least while playing with my friends. I know them, so I slow play until they start getting drunk and "agressive" (a/k/a reckless) and then I take their money. It has worked for me several times.

I would recommend playing low limit hold'em. Don't be fooled by all the hype, No limit is great, but as far as the easiest course to becoming a winner in poker is by playing limit hold'em. Read the book Winning Small Stakes Hold'em By David Sklansky and Mason Malmuth. That is a great book. Follow the starting hand recommendations and play within your means, this means building up a bankroll (if you're serious), and playing lots and lots of hands :) Also, try to make the best decision at every chance. With study and practice, you should become a winning player ")

Wear 10 pairs of pants is a good one. But I also think getting naked wouldn't hurt. It distracts the other players.

Have patience a game can last 1 to 5 hrs online just play big cards and fold the rest, the majority of the time you will win with good cards and dont play it tired or with alchol your decision making is shit
