Nothing complicated. You need: -The laptop connected to preferably a Broadband Internet Connection (DSL, Cable or other). You can do it with dial-up, but it will be a poor communication). -A WebCam....if possible USB 2.0 -Have the speakers activated...or have a set of headphones (I'm assuming you have a sound card installed). -A microphone (free standing or as a part of the headphones). -The software needs to be installed (such as Messenger, Skype or other). That's it....nothing more.

Web cam.. Some laptops have built-in web cams. Its necessary that the other party has also the web cam in order for you to see each other. Other communication equipment are also needed such as microphones if ever built-in sounds are not that good. http://techrentals.com.au/sitemap.asp

You need to have a web cam if your laptop don't have a built in cam. You can also have a headphone. Just make sure that your system works well if you do your conferencing. www.pbx101.com can give you more information about conferencing.
