It's a conspiracy man!!!

The breathalizer that the woman uses might be different from the one the guy uses, depending on the gender of the police officer, her willingness, the circumstances, and their need to make quotas.

Interesting point and, in fact, I hadn't noticed. But now that you mention it, it's quite glaring. I don't know what national statistics are on gender breakdown of people who stopped for DUI, but it shouldn't matter. I think one reason might be that as a society we tend not to link our image of women with the image of drunk drivers. The same is true of other illegal activities, like sexual predation. We have this cultural double-standard when it comes to the female gender. Women are simultaneously second-class citizens as well as being placed on pedestals where they couldn't possibly do all the icky-nasty stuff that guys do. Of course, anyone who lives in, and is conscious of, the real world knows better.

In truth, there are more men that get DUIs than women, but that might also be selective enforcement as to who gets pulled over. Maybe men are more inherent risk-takers, but probably not. I think more men want to "suck it up" and get home rather than thinking themselves weak or getting in trouble with the wife. Maybe the depiction of drunk chicks is in some way seen as sexist. Maybe they don't want to touch on the fetish-ish associations made with patting down or handcuffing women. Whatever the case may be, it ain't right. A lot of women drive drunk as skunks to enable their social lives just like guys do, and in all honesty sitcoms and talk shows should have taught us that men on TV are always going to be portrayed as idiots.

you think that paris hilton or lindsay lohan will do the commercials if they had females. they portray it as only men drink and drive or at least get caught drinking and driving.

As some of you undoubtedly know, men have lost much of their authority and place in soceity. Just look at the distribution of "As &Bs" and "Ds &Es" by sex in the K-12 school system. Hey, I felt it was incumbent on me to offer some proof of this statement. But who gets the ticket is not the only issue here. The DUI thing is just a rigged carnival game. As we sit here, bars in every city and town in the world are sloshing patrons well past the legal limit with full knowledge of the policing authority who make no effort to curtail this age-old Keystone cops caper. That's right, the state is in on it. They are the ones that issue the liquor licences that say 245 people can be served there along 14 other bars in a town with only 3 taxi cabs. Only when an accident occurs does the liability of the bar owner come into judicial purview. All I'm saying is that the supply side plays a major role here. No evidence for common sense needs to provided in a court of law. The state is in on it, the courts are in on it, the liquor industry is in on it, the bar owner is in on it, but that daily winner of this unlucky lottery albeit male or female gets ALL the focus. That's the misleading thing.

You know how society and T.V. are. Women are perfect creatures who do no wrong. Didn't you know that? It's just like relationships. When you hear about a relationship or marriage that ended, the first thing people ask is, "What did HE do?" Never what did SHE do!
