  • They don't have to follow it. They're forgiven, remember? lol.
  • Why do people not place questions in the correct category but insist on placing them where they don't belong?
  • According to the tenets of Christianity, CHRIST alone fulfilled all that was required by the law, (Old Testament) and that by being a Christian (In Christ), we partake in HIS righteousness by imputation. You are not required to do something that is already done perfectly, Christ Himself declared "It is finished!" What more is there to do except believe Him? That's why it is called the gospel, (good news) The Apostle Paul eloquently explained this concept in intimate detail. I could tell you where to look but I won't. It's better if you read it for yourself, you have a better chance of understanding that way because you won't be calling me a liar and trying to change the reality of this simply by your objections. I realize many Christians are going to disagree with me on this, but then they would be wrong. Christians are human and make mistakes, misunderstanding this one is not a sin unto death, it's just what we call being shallow in the faith.
  • The New Testament is the fulfilment of the Old Testament. Therefore, thought the moral imperatives and the historical stories of the OT are imperative for christians to believe and obey, the cultural ones are not, because they have been fulfilled by Christ. They point to him totally. Every time we read an OT command, we have to put it in the context of "What does this add to our knowledge of Christ and His mission?"
  • Not many can follow the OT, no matter how hotly they may defend it as God’s word. Below are just three examples of its rules. Not many follow the NT because they are more aware of, and will defend very strongly, the doctrines of the church rather than the teachings of Jesus. Below are just three examples of what Jesus did not teach. The LT, Last Testament aka the HQ contains more practical rules and the correct teachings of Jesus. Check it out, you’ll lose nowt. . Leviticus 15:13-15 “And when he that hath an issue (ejaculates) is cleansed of his issue (semen); then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean. And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the LORD unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them unto the priest: And the priest shall…” Leviticus 15:19-22 “And if a woman have an issue (menses), and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean…” Exodus 31:14 “Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it SHALL SURELY BE PUT TO DEATH: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people” Not in the NT Jesus telling people that they carry the “Original Sin” Jesus telling people that he is God. Jesus telling people that God is a trinity.
  • a savior doesn't have to be the son of God. he was the messiah, the savior of the jews and if a prophet that still makes perfect sense to me. i believe in one God the almighty, who created the heavens and earth like all christians, but Christ is not the creator, and i only worship one not two Gods. christ was not a liar, certainly not, but no prophet was a liar. Christ never said he was the son of God, but the son of man. christ will come again on the day of reckoning. it's true. but i don't understand him to be the son of God.
  • edit error, ignore
  • what almighty loving God and creator are you speaking of? surely he is just, but he is always forgiving no?
  • Emmanuel means "God with us". Most OT names are to be viewed for their meanings, especially prophetic ones. Jesus is "God with us" because He is God come to earth. Jesus did refer to himself as Son of God. Jesus was asked by the high priest whether He was the "Son of God" (Matthew 26:63), He responded affirmatively. God Himself refers to Jesus as His son at his baptism (that is pretty good back up!)in Mark 1. John 1:14 refers to Jesus as God's only begotten Son. Jesus frequently refers to himself as "The Son" when he speaks of "The Father" ("The Father loves the Son...John 5:20) There is no contradiction between the titles SOn of Man and Son of God. In Daniel 7 and 8, the term is given to an eschatological figure, to whom ALL authority on heaven and earth is given. It is in that sense that Jesus uses it. In another aspect, Jesus uses the more ambiguous Son of Man because to use Son of God would have automatically brought the establishment down upon him. Jesus was very astute, and wanted to finish his training of the apostles and his general teaching before His death and resurrection.
  • Learn by the OLD , Live by the New.... The Old Testament was for GODS chosen people, the Jews or Israel or the Israelites, He more or less gave up on them and Jesus opened SALVATION up for ALL. The NEW Testament is HOW we should walk in this world, EXAMPLE is AS JESUS WALKED. wE WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT HE TRIED TO DO AND HOW GOD WAS REJECTED AND DISOBEYED TIME AND TIME AGAIN IF WE DID NOT HAVE THE OLD TESTAMENT...the old testament is full of PROPHECY also that WILL ,and alot has, BEEN FULFILLED!!!!!
  • The old testiment is the Jewish version of the new testiment. There OLD testiment is called the Torah(I believe).
