Obviously after the name is given to the plane where the US President is aboard. Here some data about the famous call sign: "Air Force One" is a radio call sign, not a plane. Actually any plane will change its call sign to Air Force One, while the president of the US is aboard. Officially, at least nowadays, the "usual" plane using the Air Force One call sign is a Boing 747-200B modified to meet the presidential needs. How the call sign was invented? Well easy...as you know the President is the First Citizen, his wife the First Lady, his family the First Family and so on, so his plane is the First Plane, right....well in this case being handled by the Air Force, it got named "Air Force One" (instead of First Air Force, which doesn't sounf as good). Interesting, isn't it?
