I have to warn you, I know that since you live in the Philippines you will understand me and take this seriously. Filing for divorce in the Philippines is a dangerous prospect. Watch your back, especially if your relationship was based mostly on your ability to provide income into an otherwise totally impoverished situation. If you can leave suddenly without warning and then file for divorce from the (relative) safety of the US, do that.

Hey girl, you are talking like my husband!Take my place,I am a wife of an American citizen, my husband gave me nothing but disappointments, children fear him,I am a Filipina,no money/no assets,he stopped giving me support for four months, stopped communicating,he went home but he was nowhere, he avoids my calls even his boss?He never petitioned us for the US,nor filed for a change of visa,I have kids to feed and give education, they are witty and gifted! We are into hell!He doesn't want me to work so I quit!I am in a place where jobs are not scarce, now tell me should I file for alimony or just let my kids stop eating a decent meal and quit their schooling even if they were both first honor students,my kids were both minors. And can't live alone if I find a job as househelp? If I answered you no he can't ask for an alimony, where do I put myself now? There is moral obligations you have to face, because laws here are far different from laws there but as a grieving wife and mother of two growing kids,I ask you now what will I do if I don't ask for his help can I ask yours? We were married here and he was divorced when i married him,and promises me all the stars he could get!

why did you marry the guy in the first place? if there is some sort of deceit to your marriage, i.e. posing as wealthy scumbug, etc... better go and take your children back to u.s (if you have one). he can't file for alimony or whatever it is, whether you are married in PI or in U.S. BTW, there's no divorce in the Philippines, only annulment, and it takes a hell lot of time, 2 years if your lucky to have you marriage annulled... MY ADVICE, PACK YOUR THINGS AND GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!

File an annulment case against your husband in the Philippines. Divorce is not allowed here. It will only take 3 months to finish the case and the cost is 175k more or less. No issue on alimony. Try to contact a lawyer in manila at morelaw50@hotmail.com for more info on the legal steps to take.
