Im sorry to say but that would be silicon... Silicon is the second most common element on earth. It is in over 90% of the worlds crust. The reason it is the second most common element is because it likes to form a tetrahedra with oxygen. Tetrahedra like are even easier to bond forming chains double chain, and sheets.
