Why do a lot of shortcut desk top and favourite list icons that I create, only get an explorer"e" icon instead of their own unique logo icon?

desktop icons get their origin from the application they open with, so if explorer is your default browser they get the explorer icon. just like if windows media player is your default media player an mp3 will get that icon.

Right click on the icon and select properties, click change icon, and select the one that you want to use, then click apply, ok..That will put a new icon on your desktop..Good Luck..

like i said above the icon is for a program in this case the program used to open AB which would be explorer, if you save an AB bag icon (right click, save as) to your my pictures folder you can then go back to the AB link on your desktop and as dixierock above said right click it select properties and the click change icon. not sure though it this will change the icons of all your files associated with explorer because i have never tried it, hopefully it will just change the one you want.
