Not scared really. I have seen some pretty scruffy ones though. The last one I saw though was actually smoking while ringing the bell. It did turn me off of getting close though.

When I was a little kid, about 4, my dad gave me a dollar and told me to give it to 'that man over there ringing the bell'. He was a big man, and he intimidated me alittle, but I went over and tried to hand over the dollar from 5 feet away. The man said, teasingly (although I didn't know he was teasing at the time), "Oh, I don't bite little girls...normally." I screamed and yelled for my dad to save me.
