I don't think it's an acquired taste; I have yet to meet someone reasonable who doesn't like it. I make a mean Armenian hummus.

Acquired taste? I love it! It's one thing I'm not so good at making, but we have a great Greek place pretty close that makes great hummus as well as falaffel. Anything that is based on starch and garlic is good in my book!

I love it, but I grew up eating the stuff..along with dolma, pilav, beurak, baklava..being of Armenian heritage, that was our kind of food..along with Armenian cracker bread, greek olives, feta/string cheese, shish kebab, tabouli...darn it, now I'm hungry for all of that! :)

Some hummus is really good but I've had some that is pretty bad. Unfortunately for my husband his first hummus was bad so he doesn't want to try anymore.

I just bought some roasted garlic flavored last week, I spread iy on rice cakes and rye-krisp and it wasn't bad at all.
