Is water being added by the manufacturer in the processing of ground beef or ground turkey? If so, why isn't water listed as an additive on the food label?

I have been going back and forth to FL. Down there they made the stores start putting on labels when they are pumped up with water. If you go to a Wal Marts down there you will see most of their meat is pumped up with water.... I don't know if it is a state's decision or if it is through the US.

Yes it is, and most don't have to place it as an additive because if it's something they claim to use in producing the meat or it's 'manufacture', it doesn't need to be declared. Kind of like the BLEACH that is used on wheat flour to make white bread:-)
