  • Caucasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid, and Australoid. These categorizations are no longer widely used by anthropologists, however.
  • Subgroups of the human race? There are many many of them including Caucasian, which is not a great way of classifying really. The "Caucasian" peoples were the Indo-Europeans who moved out of Southern Russia into their present lands beginning about 6000 BC. They include the Germanic, the Slavic, The Celtic, the Romance/Italic, the Hellenic/Greek, the Armenian/Albanian, the Persians, the Afghanis, the North Indians and Pakistanis and the Sri Lankans by linguistics. You can see that their facial features differ widely, though they are quite closely related linguistically and DNA. There are several major groups in AFrica and the Middle East, Nilo-Saharan, Afro-Asiatic(closely related to Indo-European), including Semitic, Berber and Cushiti,;Eastern Sudanic, Kadu and Bantu. Asia is very diverse linguistically and DNA wise. Its language groups include, Sino-Tibetan, Austronesian, Mon-Khmer, and Dravidian. The Pacific peoples are largely Austronesian (quite closely related to the Indonesian/Malay peoples) North AMerican and South American languages ultimately derive from the same source in Russia, but have diverged greatly. I have tended to divide people up linguistically, but even this is not accurate, as many people who speak a particular language now, are not of the ethnic group to which it belongs eg the English are predominantly NOT Anglo-Saxon in DNA, but the original population, which spoke Celtic languages, was dominated in the post 5th century by Anglo-Saxon invaders, and DNA wise, they are mixed. Many North Africans speak Arabic, but their ancestry by DNA is Berber or Cushitic. I look "Caucasian" but my great-great grandfather was black. I also have Indian, and Native Chilean blood. SEveral of my most ancient bloodlines trace back to North India and China. The rule is: all humans have the same DNA, just different markers that tell us where our ancestors came from. We can all intermarry, and produce viable offspring, so we are all ONE race.
