I think the mouse one is more wise,for sometimes the early bird gets the mouse.

I prefer to be the second mouse. You often do a much better job at things after watching others fail miserably, and then try something else. I tend to prefer this maxim to either though: Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

I always learn from others mistakes but you sometimes gotta get there early to get the lessons. So both.
