Do you get irritated when someone says to you "This is all YOU need...", or "No YOU don't...", when everyone is different, how do they know what you need or don't need?

Yeah, that gets annoying. That may be all THEY need, but it might not be all I need!

That depends on how it is said. Usually it is only a figure of speech and not directed at YOU specifically. For example; an informal way of saying "there is no need" (You don't need (have) to go that way, this way is shorter). But if someone were to actually tell me that I didn't need something, yes, it would annoy me.

I think they are giving an opinion of what they would do, giving you that second moment to give it a second thought in case it's something really stupid- friends do this kind of thing.
