Why do people always ask us Baggers "Could I be pregnant ?" questions instead of just taking a test or going to their doctor?

Probably because they are ashamed to buy a pregnancy test kit or to go to their doctor.

Probably because they are scared to take the test and find out... they would rather have other people tell them they might not be so they can calm their nerves a bit.

I guess some people think we make good surrogates for parents, doctors, lawyers, and clergy person.

Unless there is a doctor among us, these people should go straight to their doctors for this kind of help

Probably because it's pretty scary, especially if you're a teenager and you need reassurance. Personally I wouldn't follow any medical advice from AB, but I can understand why they would need someone to tell then they're not pregnant and that they're ok. It's a personal issue and the people you'd normally go to (parents, family or friends) would flip out instead of give you reassurance, so you turn to strangers instead.
