..and a cell phone in case your not dead. That would really suck, though you'd be comfortable. Until the oxygen ran out.
I'm sure you can put that request in your will or whatever...
My mother was buried without shoes.
i hope you arent about to die on us tho. that would be horrible!
I doubt if it will matter that much. What you need to do is leave instructions with your loved ones.
My parents paid for their funerals and burial in advance and left a contract that detailed what they wanted.
Eh? I really don't think comfort is going to be a big concern if you're dead. If it it actually is an issue, perhaps i should reconsider getting cremated...
And no, you don't HAVE to get buried in shoes. Just let someone know ahead of time your wishes. In writing, if you want to be sure.
Most people are buried barefooted unless requested they have shoes. Now there those who have full open casket with they do have shoes own. But in partial open caskets they are normally barefooted.
We buried one of my friends barefoot exactly as you describe, except in a silk-lined casket. The casket was open down to her toes at the wake, and everyone thought she looked great. No one really wants to take their eternal rest with a pair of shoes on.
As far as I know, people are buried without shoes.
The whole clothing thing seems unnecessary. More work for the bugs to do, if you ask me.
I say clothe me for the viewing, but strip me for the burial.
I would want my viewing to where I am wearing what I normaly wear. So people could remeber me as I was.
Beyond that I want to be cremated in the end.
But I think funeral parlors follow the request of the families. So I am sure shoes are optional.
Most people are buried without shoes. It's personal choice.
You can be buried just about anyway you want, just leave your request with the one who will be doing the arrangments.
i'd be more concerned with the discomfort of being embalmed and having your mouth sewn/wired shut (under the lips to keep your mouth from opening)
I'd rather have air conditioning and cable. I know where I'm headed.
The only time I've ever seen someone dead was when one of my friends died in an accident in the 80's. She was laid in a coffin wearing a black dress barefoot. When I asked her dad about it he just said she didn't like wearing shoes much so it felt more natural to leave nothing on her feet. Then again, this was Hawai'i and we tend to agree with that.
People can be buried however they want to be buried. My sister, a cowgirl with a killer body, has been doing some funeral planning and asked the funeral director if she could be laid to rest in her cowboy boots, a pair of short shorts and a tank top. The director was fine with that abd said that lying in state in this attire wouldn't be an issue

Taking leftovers from a house-party without permission may not be proper, but how about from a post-funeral dinner?

You're reading Are people always buried wearing shoes? Can you be buried without them? Since most caskets are satin lined with nice pillows I would rather just wear a nice blouse and skirt (since it's open) but go barefoot/legged in mine. Sounds more comfortable ;)
