If a female friend comes to you to tell you that she was taken advantage of by a male friend of yours, what should you do?

Nothing. Nobody can be "taken advantage of" if he/she doesn't want to. (except the case of raping)

Okay, in light of the responses, I feel like I should be more specific as to the situation. She got too drunk while we were out-staggering and slurring. He was sober and drove her home. He, being sober, took advantage of her state, being that drunk. And it did it in a very sleazy way, waiting till she had gone to bed (without him) and then going into her room and initiating sex. She didn't stop him, so she knows it's not rape...but he acted like a predator and I find his behavior disgusting. My dilemma is that he is not just my friend, but a friend of the entire group of people I hang out with. I feel like he should have some consequences for what he did, because if he doesn't I am afraid he may do it to another one of my friends. He actually tried a similar thing before, but he was drunk and she was sober and fortunately she was able to push him out of her room and lock the door. But I'm also afraid that if I distance myself from him, I will disrupt the whole group of friends that I share with him. Since the situation isn't black and white, I could really use a ton of other opinions on it.

He's kind of a dirtbag if you ask me. Taking advantage of an almost passed out girl while you're sober is probably the closest thing to rape. The bottom line: he should know that what he did was wrong. If he knows, then he's a dirtbag. if he doesn't, he's either lying, or a compelte douchebag idiot. Either way, I don't like him.

I would strongly recommend that if she feels she was sexually assulted or raped, she contact the police or a lawyer. Rape is serious.

This guy is a sleazebag and should never take advantage of a person who's ability to properly reason is impaired. He would cease to be any friend of mine.

Beat his ass half to death, then report what he did if it was illegal. If the cops say what he did was not "technically illegal" let him heal for a few days and think he got by with something, then beat his ass again, making sure the lady gets to kick him in the nuts about 8 times as hard as she can to finish off the deal. Just my thoughts.

i would advise my friend to talk to someone else about it...her parents perhaps. find out what he did. If it was rape i would also advise her to report him...as long as i trusted her i would take her side...maybe i would talk to my other male friend and ask what he did with that girl and get info secretly
