A longboard is more cruisein down the street and down hills and stuff when a shortboard is more tricks hardcore.

A longboard is more or less just a longer version of a skateboard. While skate boards usually have rounded ends, and are about two feet long, longboards often have a rounded front end, and a tapering point at the back. Longboards are around four feet long. While skateboards are usually used for tricks, the larger and heavier longboard is less suitable for tricks. However, they're more efficient while riding, and one push with the foot will go much further on a longboard than a skateboard.
