Trump does a lot of charity work much of which is done w/o media attention. I don't know about Paris.

lmao good question. a lot of extremely wealthy people donate their money, but still it's not wrong to not donate. it's nice if and when you do, but people that have insane amounts of money are not morally required to donate-just morrally encouraged.

the fact of the matter is(and this may sound horrible): it is their money. they are gifted enough to have it, so who is to say they have to give it away to anybody who asks for it? im not particularly wealthy myself, but ill be damned if im gonna go give away the bit of money that i have earned. sure ill do charity work and drop my change in the bucket at church, but the rest of what i have is mine and i worked for it therefore i am entitled to spend it the way i please, and so are they.

That's capitalism for you. You end up with haves and have-nots. And while I certainly think it's virtuous to be charitable, not everyone sees it that way, and in this system, that is their right. If you start deciding how much is too much and trying to redistribute, who knows where it would stop? I think it would be a greater injustice to forcefully take resources from the well-off than it is to let the poor exist as they are.

Scary isn't it , I agree with you

I think people justify their excessive lifestyles for numerous reasons. It's their human right to spend their money on whatever they desire. No one can take it from them forcefully or make them give it away. Plus, I'm sure they have the mentality that they cannot help every single person they come across that is in the hole or having financial difficulty. They can't help everyone and I think they actually do have charitable causes and they do donate. They just have so much it just doesn't seem like it is enough to the have nots.

Good question! I think they just try to avoid the thought of the poor or donate to some nebulous charity so they can feel good about themselves.

Maybe your anger is directed at the wrong people. If all the resources of this world were divided evenly, each man, woman and child would have the equivalent of two bowls of rice a day. That would be equal rights for everybody. How do you justify your three meals a day, knowing 30,000 people die of starvation every single day of the year? The media rarely reports about Paris Hilton's charity work. Paris is more involved with children fundraising. She is also involved in finding solutions for those who suffer from breast cancer. She often visits many children hospitals and works for children's charities, specialized in multiple sclerosis and AIDS cases. She helps those who are less fortunate and live in homeless shelters. Furthermore, she's not only an animal lover, but also an animal activist. When she viewed a video of an animal being brutally killed for fur, she promised to never wear real fur again. Another way of raising money is by simply attending or hosting a party and giving the amount she gets paid to charity organizations.

They do not have to justify it.
