  • Yes.Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Refer Mark 3:29
  • Yes, although it is an unforgivable sin according to the Bible, its not committed by act of ignorance or accident, it has to be an act of your will, overriding and disobeying the continuous warning and prompting of the Holy Spirit. It helps if you understand the word, here is the Webster interpretation: “to speak of or address with irreverence” http://www.webster.com/dictionary/blasphemes - Or - 1 a: the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for God b: the act of claiming the attributes of deity2: irreverence toward something considered sacred or inviolable http://www.webster.com/dictionary/blasphemy
  • Yuppers! Here is the Explanation, Enjoy! John DOCTRINE OF THE UNPARDONABLE SIN A. This is the one sin Jesus Christ could not and did not die for on the cross, Jn 3:18, 36. This sin is the rejection of Christ and His work on the cross. B. This sin is related to the convicting ministry of the Holy Spirit, Gen 6:3; Jn 16:7-11; Heb 10:29. C. Rejection of Christ is called "sin," Jn 16:9. D. Synonyms for the unpardonable sin. 1. The willful sin, Heb 10:26. 2. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, Mt 12:31. 3. Resistance of the Holy Spirit, Acts 7:51. 4. Insulting the Holy Spirit, Heb 10:29. E. Those who are under the unpardonable sin consider the Gospel foolishness, 1 Cor 1:18, 2:14. F. This sin is characterized by strong delusion, 2 Thes 2:11-12. G. This sin has its own reversionism, 2 Pet 2:19-22.
  • My take on Mark 3:29 is this: 1) The context is that the teachers of the Law were accusing Jesus of being "possessed by Beelzebub" and that "by the prince of demons he is driving out demons" (v22) 2) Jesus' response is that is ridiculous. If Satan were doing that, it would be to his/Satan's ruin. Rather, what Jesus is doing is the opposite: He is binding the strong man/Satan and carrying off his things. (v23-27). 3) Jesus then says "all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them". This makes sense considering that Jesus would later die in our place to deal with our sins, fully, once for all to restore our relationship with God 4) He then brings up the fact that whoever blasphemes (and this, I think is in the continual sense. ie. Whoever blasphemes and continues to blaspheme) against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven and that "He said this because they[the teachers of the Law] were saying "He has an evil spirit" 5) Taking all this into account, it seems to me that the teachers of the Law were pretty much rejecting and continuing to reject Jesus and that Jesus is warning them that such rejection and continual rejection will not be forgiven. 6) This makes sense since if Christ died for our sins, then rejecting Him means that the benefits of forgiveness cannot be received. In contrast, upon receiving Christ by responding to Him in repentance and faith/trust, "all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them" (v28) Thus, it seems from a Biblical point of view, the only sin man is not forgiven is rejecting Jesus and continuing to reject Him.

  • not true....; actually this idea pure nonsense.... within a fictitious identity, you name the sin, I'm sure its out there, and I'm sure someone deemed it unforgivable...but, dig just a bit into their assumptions as to "what is" and you realize that their logic doesn't stand....with a clear mind, it will actually appear rather insane... rather than focusing on what you say and deciding how to label it, perhaps there is wisdom in considering the value to YOU of anything you choose to say....; wouldn't this be a productive use of your time if you must sit and measure just how "good" you are.... hint: if you must believe in a god, why not pick a definition of it that is beyond your comprehension yet holding attributes of full acceptance of you...isn't that a deity you'd want to worship? or do you prefer one that will smite you....? think
