  • DVD R media has to be finalized and closed after every write. Once you write information to a disc that will be all you can ever write to it. It is a good way to store media, but if you need to ability to change the data or write multiple sessions to the disc you should choose DVD RW.
  • Due to weirdness, I can't get comments when there is only one answer. Therefore, I post this in order to read the comments of question one!
  • It is possible with Nero burner. In the opening page select "data disk". In the next page named "disk contents", add your files or folders and click finished and go to next screen by clicking on "next". On this page, you will find the menu box "allow files to be added later". If you click in the box, you can more files later until the disk capacity is full. Many freeware burners also provide this facility. Look for that provision.
