What is your opinion of the word "fine"? Does it lead you to believe that something is wrong, or everything is ... fine?

Something has gone hopelessly wrong if I receive a fine!

To me it depends how the word is used and the tone in which it is said.If you say a person wears 'fine' clothing that is very good quality clothing imo.If you ask someone how they are they could say 'fine' in an upbeat tone,then they probably mean good, if they say 'fine' in a downbeat or offhand way, they may not feel fine at all (a bit 'wrong') or just OK.

A good friend explained it to me. FINE stands for: F#@%'ed up, Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotional.
