  • They can not invade! They know they cant, they would not win a war with Iran due to both the size of the Iranian army and the fact Iran would get backing from all the Muslim countries surrounding it and China.
  • They are not prone to making up excuses to do such things so I can't imagine they would start now.
  • The US is not going to invade Iran. There's no need to. If we just blockade the port, the Iranian economy could fold. BTW, is this the same group that told Bush there were WMDs in Iraq? Hmmmm...
  • It's funny how the 2007 NIE says there wasn't an Iranian nuclear weapons program since 2003. The 2005 NIE said there was such a program. Curious, isn't it?
  • Just as George Tenet told GWB that it was a "slam dunk" that Iraq had WMDs prior to OIF, the same crowd tells him "no worries" about Iran. When Iran develops nuclear weaponry, it will be GWB's fault again. (As it should be. That just goes with the territory.) The hardest part of building a nuke is getting fissable U-235. The Iranian centrifuges are whirling away. Ask yourself this: Why does an oil rich country need nuclear powerplants? Do you think Iran is really concerned about their carbon footprint? (sometimes I crack myself up. LOL!) Put aside partisan politics for a moment. The Iranian president has vowed the destruction of Israel. Israel is loaded for bare with nukes. A nuclear conflagration in the ME will devastate the global environment, kill millions, and wipe out the global economies. When it comes to nukes, we all live in a fishbowl. England, China, France, Russia, India and Israel all have nuclear weapons. I don't think about that when I go to sleep at night because I have a feeling the leaders of those countries are essentially rational IMHO. To me, Iran is like the crazy psycho woman that walks into a bar with a pistol, vowing death to the Great Satan. I think it's a pivotal point in history. I wonder how it will be written in the history books.
  • WMD's? worked last time!
  • "Also, why wouldn't a country use alternative power sources even if they have oil reserves? " If you wanted to get warm, and you had and axe and a dead tree, would you build a fire? Or would you get a front end loader and dig up your property to find some coal? Yeah...makes a lot of sense.
  • "First: Burning petroleum for drive turbines is as ridiculous as burning money to drive turbines - it costs much more than is necessary and it an economically inefficient way to produce electricity." If that's what you have at hand, why don't you use it rather than importing uranium ore and enriching it And then building nuclear reactor facilities, AND then building generation plants around that? You can google as well as I. Are there any petroleum liquid electricity generating plants in the US? Hmmmm.... "Texas would use its oil to produce electricity for whole country. BUT THEY DON'T!!" PLEASE!!! Don't ever accuse me of being simplistic again. Texas is only one state in a free market nation. If there was no coal or hydro fueled electricity generating plants in the US, don't you think there would be more petroleum fueled generating plants?
  • In Iraq.
  • Four friggin years? Where in the Canal? Operation Just Cause? Get off it.
  • Nelson, Thanks for having the balls to say you downrated me. I'll look up your answers and give them as many points as I can. It's good to see a sign of testicular fortutitude here. I heard a very moving speech from a CMOH receipient who talked about a SGT on one of his choppers. He landed his Huey next to a crashed helicopter in VN. The SGT had to chop off a guy's arm with a crash axe to free him from the burning helicopter. Col Fleming said the next time he met that SGT, he was a worthless alcoholic. He never got past it. Do yourself a favor and just get past it.
  • Unless they translated him wrong I am quite sure the Iranian president six monts ago said they are going nuclear and they are not stopping. He did say they are not interested in NUKES but (if I am allowed to) I don't trust him one bit.
  • Is this the same US Intelligence that said there were Weopons of Mass Distruction in Iraq? They are a bunch of morons so why would anyone believe them this time?
  • because it's next in the alphabet after Iraq in the 'to do and screw up'list that Halliburton gave Bush
