  • A bootable floppy boots the computer with a cut down version of whatever OS is on the floppy, so it doesn't matter what OS is on the hard drive. You could even boot it with a DOS disk.
  • Bootable floppy disks created in Windows will only contain a version of DOS, and will not be able to load any Windows programs.
