He made a mistake when he invaded Soviet Union during winter.....if he made a pact with Stalin things today would be really different.....
-
Keep the alliance with the Russians and avoid the two front war. I could go on further but that is probably the most important.
-
Not invading Russia in the winter would have been a good start. I mean, really, that was just plain stupidity and arrogance. He thought that Russia would be a pushover so he sent his troops in for an easy kill with hardly any, if any, winter preparations. Oops. ----------edit taken from a comment thread... He threw away what could have been army conscripts: the Jews and Gypsies. I do not know if they would have fought had they been conscripted but, had they been willing, that would have given Hitler much more manpower. Instead he used manpower to slaughter them.

Yeah Invading Russia was big Mistake and committing excessive resources to the extermination of the Jews probably didn't help things.

He invaded the USSR in July, not the winter, but didn't equip them for winter. The extra month or two from invading in May might have made a difference. Stalin was as bad a monster as Hitler, and war was inevitable, so I don't know if he could have gotten out of that war. I've read on StrategyPage.com various authoritative-sounding opinions that Germany's economy was in trouble and couldn't have done very well at all for very much longer, and that the imbalance of forces and economic force vs the USSR was getting more and more in the USSR's favor. Stalin had a steel grip on the gov't there, and wasn't about to be overthrown. Even if the Germans had taken Moscow and the USSR gov't had to flee, Germany at best would have been stuck with occupying HUGE tracts of land, fighting a guerrila war, for forever. . In the west, an invasion of Britain had virtually no chance of succeeding, so that wasn't an option. . Yes, Hitler could have recruited Soviet minorities to be against Stalin, not wasted resources on killing Jews, and even not have invaded France, fought Britain, declared war on the US, and so on... but he would never have done any of those, BECAUSE he WAS Hitler.

NOT to have attacked Russia while still fighting England. That's the main thing. Biggest mistake Hitler made, because he made a pact with Russia when they both invaded Poland and basically split Poland between the two of them and that was supposed to be it. But, Hitler got greedy. Not having such a strong hatred, and killing off all the Jews.

The main reason why Germany lost the war was because the German Militry Code "Enigma" was discipered by the British, so the Allies knew exactly what the German High Command was ordering, so he could have changed the Militry Code, secondly he could have continued the attack on Britain in 1940, third he should not have declared war on America as a counter response to America's declaration of war on Japan as the Japanese did not keep their promise for attacking Russia, after Germany attacked it.

He was too stubborn to acknowledge the dramatic effects semi-automatic rifles could do to turn a battle, as a veteran of WWI he believed the single shot bolt rifle was better. He also did not believe in fully automatic weapons that could be carried by one soldier. The STG44 was developed and sent to the field behind Hitlers back. When he found out about it, he was furious.

The axis powers in world war two did not work as a coridinated force i.e Italy was not a reliable partner for Germany, for germany was forever pulling Italy out of scrapes. What hitler should have done was to keep the United states out of the war as long as possible. Hitler should have gotten Japan to not attack pearl Harbour and opted to go against the eastern part of Ussr for that is what should have happend. Operation Barbarossa should have taken place as a short sharp shock from the east by japan and by the west Germany Romania,Italy and at the same time knocked out key strategic forces of the USSR. With japans Navy very strong and Bismark could have starved england from materials and I think a little more cordination by the axis things would be very different today. I'm not a Nazi I'm a historian all the best.

Well for one I certainly wouldn't have underestimated a country where its people always give it the title of Mother. They destroyed an entire city to leave Hitler and his troops sourceless in the middle of Winter. How badass and proud can you get? Russians are awesome. :)

If Germany had not sunk American ships and Japan had not attacked pearl harbor we would have waited to go to war even longer and Hitler may have been able to get a larger foothold on Europe. America was very hesitant to go to war and remained neutral even though FDR did and put it off until it was absolutely necessary, Pearl Harbor was the catalyst.

Hitler should have not declared war on the united states on the 11 december 1941 for the 6th army was now trenched in around Stalingrad This was one of the many ill decisions of Hitler. For he knew that the only way to even think about victory in the USSR was a short sharp shock of his Blitz kreig armies that would secure oil fields in the Caucauces neutralize the soviet factories in Siberia. This delusion of the germans thinking that they could single handedly take out bolshevism would be the total and utter smashing of the 6th army in stalingrad for no matter what the germans did after this and the defeat at Kursk would untimatly be the end of any more offensive attacks of any significance by the german armed forces it was a defensive war from france from italy, and russia right to the very end at the Reichstag bunker, But the # one cause of the german armed forces were that they had got into a two front war unwhich there was no return it was impossibel for the germans had woke up two sleeping giants the USA,and the USSR

He could have not committed genocide against God's people, the Jews, and he could have joined the Allies in fighting Italy and Japan.

Refraining from shooting himself in the head might've given him an edge.
