What is the proper way to dispose of an old computer ( one that crashed a while ago and is really old). I just want to get rid of it.

I don't know how it works where you live, but in Canada, we have e-recycle depots where you can bring any electronic components, including computer parts.

I didnt look to see where you are. I recently took an old computer to be recycled at "Goodwill". The state pays them per unit, so you get rid of it and help a good cause at the same time.
