  • My little brother who's in 3rd grade is learning it (he hates it).
  • My cousin teaches elementary school. They're still learning it.
  • I learnt in primary school, but it was not compulsory to use it. so for the rest of school even up until now yr 11 i dont write in cursive.
  • My son learned to use cursive handwriting in 3rd grade last year.
  • Some parts of the USA teach it, some parts don't ... and some regions/textbooks/teachers teach styles that they call "cursive' but that other folks might not call "cursive." To see what I mean by that last bit -- and to see how much cursive (and printing) styles can differ from school to school, download Portland State University's handwriting styles comparison document at http://www.cep.pdx.edu/samples/compare.pdf Actually, that document only hints at the differences ... because it shows only 5 of the 200+ handwriting styles that publishers produce and sell to schools. Whatever your preference in handwriting, keep in mind that the fastest and clearest handwriters avoid cursive writing. Research shows that highest-speed highest-legibility handwriters join only some (not all) the letters -- they make just the easiest joins, skip the rest, and use print-like shapes when the letter's printed and cursive shape notably "disagree." • My daughter is learning it now at school, she's 7 and it makes her feel very grown up!
  • Where have you been all my life??!! Here in Australia, they officially finished teaching script handwriting after 1959!! In 1960, they started a new style quite different from the original cursive. That quickly developed into a couple of types of italic-style writing. Basically they've kept that type of format since! But it looks terrible as against the copperplate style.
