What are your thoughts on Dubai? Mirage or Miracle?

I have heard that it is one of the most beautiful cities on earth. That's pretty miraculous.

the only place in the world that has great prices on dutyfree purchases. MIRACLE.

An amazing miracle! It has the world's tallest building (which has yet to be finished) and the world's only seven-star hotel. I wish I could go there someday.

Seemed like a nice place fifteen years ago. Haven't been there in a while so I don't know if that's still true though....

bit of both. It is the best country in the middle east, but it has no real compation. It attracts many peolpe with the promise of a better wage and climate, living dtandards ect. But when their you have less personal freedom eg. public kissing,sod law, no retirment. But as the margority of peolpe moving there are from less develped nations like india, pakistan and other, to them it is a miracle, for the west it is a miracle beacuse of less tax and more wealth. So it depends on what you call paridise and how you want to live.

It's clearly not a mirage as it's real. If it's a miracle, only by what opulence, greed and power can build on the backs of others. It's more of a decadent oasis in a desert of poverty.
