  • In the "old" days watches were worn on the left wrist because they needed winding. Since most people are right-handed it made sense to have a watch on the left wrist. This is still true of mechanical watches. Not all watches today are mechanical and may be worn on either wrist.
  • people wear watches on thier left wrist so you can put them on and take them off with your right hand. But, it's the other way around for lefties (like me).

  • The men wore their watches on the left or right,this would tell the woman on what side to sit.If the watch was on the left, she sat on that side so he make his move on his side, this would also prevent snaging on somthing.The old saying it was horrible I couldnt get my move side.
