I think power needs to be devolved, from London to nearer the communities that are affected. The benefits are it empowers local communities and also lessens the power of central government - the scourge of the 20th and 21st centuries.

I don't agree at all, it is just another level of bureaucracy into which millions upon millions of pounds can vanish. Centralised government and local councils are fine for me.
