  • Go to the office of your local Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages. You should be able to find the address in the phone book. There will be a fee.
  • All you need is your name, date and place (city or town) of birth. There is commercial service at http://www.bmd-certificates.co.uk/ which will get you a certificate for £25 - and Google will give you several other commercial services. Or you can do it online yourself at the General Register Office http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/births/obtainingbirthcertificates/index.asp
