  • You would never deep fry at such a high temp. Set the temp of th eoil to only 325° or possibly 350°F. It takes about 20-30 minutes for all that oil to reach that temperature. Then it will take about 3 minutes per pound to cook the bird. The breast meat should reach about 170°F internally and the thigh about 180°.
