No, it's not in real time, not even close. It's compiled from assorted collected satellite data, some of it is one year old, others are many years old.
In Google Earth, if you look near the bottom of the screen you can see the source of the current map data you are viewing, and the date.
The map is just a map and the satellite view is a series of photographs, some of which were taken years ago.
Not even close!
A friend of mine checked out his house, and six months after he sold a car it was STILL in his driveway.
