  • you could go to the manafacturers website and check out the spec for your laptop....or read the manual,or maybe you could go to device manager in the control panel on the start menu...hope that is of some use to you.
  • Well, for your computer to have an infrared port and function, it must have a physical part of it that is capable of sending and receiving infrared light signals. This port would take the form of a shiny bit of dark plastic somewhere on your laptop, probably on one of the sides, or on the back near the rest of the plugs. http://cellphones.about.com/library/bl_sbs_infrared_ports.htm This thread may help a bit for activating it: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic23328.html This link suggests not all IR ports are useful: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=69805 Overall, I dont think the Infrared ports on laptops or Phones are very usefull, if at all. Better using a memory card reader between devices, or a datalink cable designed for your model phone/PDA and PC. Hope this helps.
