Is it true that when asked about number of sexual partners, women always understate and men always overstate the number of partners?

Women don't tell you how many partners they've had. They tell you how many boyfriends they've had. Men tell you how many girlfriends they had and how many partners they "almost" had ;)

Not always... more like 95% That's for the guys. Women... are more honest about lying, if that makes any sense. They tell you the truth, but it's truth seen through their eyes.

I am a male and I'm honest about how many people I've slept with. I know men and women who do both. I guess it depends on who they're with and how they want to feel about themselves at the time. My friend (female), is honest with me (I think), understates with people she doesn't like as she doesnt want to be seen as a sl*t, is honest with close friends and overstates with less close friends. Never understood it.

I'd say it depends on the age of the guy.... If he's young, he's probably gonna tell you that he scored with as many chicks as possible to show off and <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<inflate his ego>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If he's older, it's not such a big deal, and he's more likely to be honest. Women generally don't like to be labeled as sluts, so they're more likely to lowball the numbers. It seems like society is counting, and everyone is more likely to be judging them.

I'm always honest. I can't speak for men but I somehow believe they fudge it a little.

I won't lie about something if asked. But I don't volunteer that kind of info, never did. I don't think it has any bearing on anything, other than the fact that my experiences make me who I am today. There is also the judgment side of it too. Women who have many lovers are often called nasty names. Men who have many lovers are often thought of as being 'manly' or machismo, or, experienced.
