  • Over extend the tendons in your ankle, most commonly by your weight shifting off to the side of the foot turning the ankle horizontally stretching (hopefully not tearing) the tendon on that side that is there to keep the ankle in place. If not treated properly that tendon will stay loose and there will be a tendency for it to occur over and over again. Take all the medicine the doc tells you, and do all the excercises and stay off it until the doc says it's ok to apply weight. You don't want to spend the rest of your years wearing an ankle support whenever you want to do some activity that involves running or foot movement.
