We should invest more in our own production. Most of our imported oil comes from the western hemisphere. We on;y get 10% of our oil from OPEC countries..We dont drill, we dont refine... We get more oil from Canada then we do from OPEC...We have huge reserves in Alaska just sittng there. We cant get to it because a some Caribou.....No new refineries... Much more expensive to buy crude and refine it ourselves then to buy refined gas..not to mention that we have over 1,000 different refined gas products,,due to all the different regulations across the country...

wwIII will be fought over the oil of the middle east...starting with china(or proxys) and then russia either as an allie to china or adversary. then the west will join in. there is no doubt on this... this is the consensus of most intelligence services worldwide and most govts containment policies to date. china has been stymied in its attempt to buy any or all of the worlds oil companies. they will be starving for oil within 5 years. although it is ironic that china has vast oil reserves in its huge borders. ineptitude and corruption... inevitable
