Some people have inflated opinions of themselves, that's for sure. Mankind has been described as a virus with shoes. I think we're quite cool, just not as cool as we tend to think we are.

Yes humanity is over-rated, Humans are a bunch of ugly shaved apes that only evolutionary advantage is having hands and the vocalization part of the brain extended for speech, we are arrogant, and ignorant... and seem to have lost our place in the Eco-system, now we are just a cancer destroying the earth. Were more then over-rated, were more like the scum of the planet, the stupidest and most destructive species on Tera.

no way dude- we're under rated. when u go outside look around. buildings, cars, planes, ice cream palors, telephones. Animals did this bro. We're freaking animals and come up with shit that boggles the mind. Now if we got rid of religions and the things that aren't true, we'd be much better off. Science is the way to go my friends. Get down on your knees and thank this Universe for creating human beings, the smartest known beings in the Universe so far.

Yes, I believe it is overated, largely due to the rapid translation of new technology/inventions into consumer products and that of rapid advances in modern military weaponry. People are falsely over proud of such materialistic things and identify it as the grace and glory of humanity. When it comes to wisdoms and virtues such as social morality, honesty, tolerance and compassion to name a few, I think the world has taken a big step backward instead. People are very materialistic minded and has no room or time for humility as much as in the past. Humility was a virtue and revered but now the essence of that word is slowly being forgotten by the new generations and being replaced with self pride and egotism instead. If we keep heading down this path, the future of mankind will be a very chaotic and mentally stressful one, to say the least. A child today addressing their parents by name is becoming more common and less shocking to the people of our time. Already, children would think of hitting a teacher or swearing at their parents and threatens to sue them for slapping him/her in the face is considered normal to them and by authorities that has became so fanatically opposed to any forms of child disciplinary means. "Filial piety" is but an alien concept no egotistic modern society would care to appreciate. School massacre is a phenomonon never heard of throughout history until recently times. These are only a few examples of modern man starting to loose the appreciation of the wisdoms and vitures which had held the fragile integrity of civilisation together throughout history. I really hope we don't destroy ourselves as it looks like humanity is in the process of spinning out of control.

No. Humanity has never been rated very highly. And, us humans are capable of incredible things. And, will be capable of even more incredible things in the future.
