Have you ever had any of your wisdom tooth removed? If so, how did you feel afterwards?

Geez no! Having my teeth cleaned by a dentist already freaks me out, what more removing a tooth?

Yeah, about five years ago -- I felt like I lost weight afterwards... :-)

I had all 4 removed. Apparantly I yelled at my mom because I was trying to talk to her and she couldn't understand me ( yeah I was pretty much out of it). I felt great though, I didn't take any of the painkillers prescribed to me. Just a few days after I ate a salad and ended up pulling all my stitches out, I laughed when it happened.

I felt loopy afterwards. They drugged me up good! I highly reccommend going 'under' if you have the option. The pain was magangable afterwards, too.

never have,the truth is even though i am 50+,i am yet to get my wisdom teethbut they are there.i can see them on the xray film.

I had mine removed yeara and years ago..3 were okay..1 became infected and it was very painful...

I had all 4 removed while conscious about 12 years ago. It was just a lot of Novocaine injections, yanking and sever pressure but besides that it was a walk in the park. I have a high pain threshold so it was no big deal.

Had all 4 removed and they were almost all impacted. I was put out for the process so I didn't feel anything and when I woke up I really wasn't sore at all (a little high, but not sore) I didn't need all of the painkillers they handed out so I just took the antibiotics. It's not that bad, I had some yellow bruises but none that you couldn't cover with makeup so it was all good. I was in highschool at the time and I was back to school 2 days later. Lots of milkshakes :)

I had all four taken at once. The top ones were impacted, and the bottom ones were pushing on my teeth. I went under anesthesia during the process itself. My memory of the event is pretty much the guy laughing at me when I asked if he was going to ask me to count backwards (like on TV shows). Then I cut to my mom waking me up in my bed asking if it hurts and saying it's time to change my gauze. For that first day, I used the pain pills prescribed to me so I slept for most of the first 24 hours. I did eat a little jello that day, though. The next day, my mouth was a little sore - so I used the ice pack and ibuprofen. much better. It takes about 4 days to feel totally better. But I was eating mashed potatoes and biscuits (from KFC) after two days. Remember, NO STRAWS. It suctions the blood clots off the nerves and causes "dry-socket" - not fun by all accounts.

I had all 4 removed like 3 years ago. It was a very bad experiance for me...Right after the Surgery I was still high on drugs and felt fine..The Second day my mouth swelled so bad, then I ended up taking to much vicodin and had to OPEN my mouth while it was already very swollen, it felt like I was pulling my jaw out of my mouth...Then the next day I was STILL feeling nausious, so I went back to the doctor and he gave me the most painful shot in the universe, then the NEXT day I got a dry socket on both sides, it hurt for almost 2 weeks.

I had mine removed when I was a teenager. No bad experiences. My most vivid memory was the effect of the anesthesia that was putting me out, it was oddly similar to intoxication.

I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed recently,two came out easily,but another two were in critical category,no pain was there,but atleast you will feel pressure thats quite obvious,but once they are removed you really feel relaxed.

I had one removed and it was a piece of cake.

I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia. For some reason the sound of my mom's voice made me want to throw up. I started yelling for her to be quiet because she was making me sick. She didn't listen and I vomitted all over her. Hee hee!

Yep. All 3 of them at once. (Genetic lack of wisdom teeth in my family.) Under general anesthetic and I was fine. My jaw and face were sore the next day but I didn't take the pain pills. Just tylenol. In two or three days I was back to normal without the pain of those uneeded teeth.

I had all four of them removed surgically when I was 17 . Everything went fine and I had no problems at all. I may have been a little sore for a few days , but, that's about it . Stick to soft foods and you'll be just fine. They used I.V. sedation and I sometimes wonder what I may have said while under the sodium pentathol. When I was "Waking up" , there was a nurse sitting in a chair beside me and her face was blushing as red as a tomato . There's a reason they call it truth serum !

Yes, all 4 of them about 5 months ago. Everyone else in my family told me that after I wake up from the surgery I would feel tired and fall asleep as soon as I get home. That didn't happen to me, I could walk to the car just fine and I didn't sleep until that night. The two worst parts were in the first day. One was when the Novocaine was partially worn off and I could feel the pain, but I couldn't drink water, let alone take my pain meds. The other was the incessant bleeding. During the first week I felt just fine with my two best friends Vicodin and Ibuprofen. I lived off of chocolate banana smoothies (no straws!). 10 days later I went to the fair with some friends for my birthday. One of the rides went upside-down and stayed there for a few seconds which caused the blood to rush into my head and reminded me of my pain. Two weeks after he surgery I felt like nothing had even happened.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed. I was out like a light. They tried to get me up afterwards, but I couldn't walk straight. All I remember was a bright light as I was being walked to the car. Slept a lot, and had NO pain what so ever. Never took any pain medication. The only thing that bothers me is the taste of blood and the rubbing feeling against the stitches.

All 4 of them at once! And I was miserable until they finally gave me pain meds that worked!

i had mine out 4 days ago and i'm still swallon and sore. i was completely knocked out thank god its xmas in 9 days i just hope i'm back to normal as i'm very fed up has any1 got any good tips please JADE xx LONDON xxxxxxx

I have and all but one was very complicated and needed surgery...so of course I was in a lot of pain for three of them.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled plus 4 other adult teeth all at the same time it was horrible all i did was eat jello and soup. I had to take tylenol 3 every 6 hours or the pain was unbearable and my mouth was so swollen i could only brush my front teeth without it hurting! it was horrible but worth it after my jaw expansion wisdom/adult teeth removal and braces my teeth are prefect and i could not be more hapy

I just got back from the dentist after having my lower right wisdom tooth removed. The scariest part was the shot in the beginning, but when the dentist wiggles your gums as he gives the injections I only felt a short pinching sensation. On a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being really bad, the pain was about a 3.5 to 4. When he was removing the tooth, I felt a pressure and a pulling, but no pain. Right now I have gauze in the area that I have to leave there until tonight when I change it before going to bed. The most important thing to remember is to breathe. When you feel scared (which you don't really need to be, because it's not that bad), just take a deep breath. That really helps. All the best to you.
