It depends how you look at it. He was probably the best player in the NHL for a couple of years and a dominate player for about 6 years. He brought a very bad team to the Stanley cup final but in the end never won anything. He will always be remembered for two things: 1) refusing to play in Quebec 2) concussions However, if you base a career on championships and potential I would say his career was a disappointment. I'm glad he quit when he did otherwise he would have been eating soft bananas for the rest of his life.

once he came to the rangers he was a disappointment. same with the maple leafs and stars. when he was with the flyers he was one of the best players in the league. too bad for the concussions cuz if it wasnt for that who knows how good he could have been and for how long.

I think if the Flyers were actually a winning team when he was playing for them....then his career would be rated better. He was a great hockey player when he was with the Flyers.
